Honda Odyssey Key Won’t Turn

My wife called me up saying the key would not turn on our Honda Odyssey.  Thanks to Google, I was able to identify the problem in a couple of minutes while we were on the phone.  I’m placing a link to it here and putting the title in the search tag in case any of you are stuck also.  :-)

To fix your problem, you have to turn the steering wheel either to the left or right as much as you can, then try to turn the key in the ignition. When the steering wheel locks, the key won’t turn. By manually holding the steering wheel out of the lock position, the key will turn again and you’re steering column will be back to normal.

Awesome!! First I forgot where I parked my car in San Fransisco (horrible idea) and then it wouldn’t start!

Thank you! I was stuck in a freezing van with my two slightly damp kids after swimming class in the middle of Canadian winter! Considering how many folks have been stuck like this it makes me wonder if this “feature” is dangerous enough to have them remove it in the next model…
